#3 Darcy "Darcy Parish" Parish - Shiel can play forward pocket instead

Never happen.

Should’ve been given a spell this week to give Clarke a chance. Hopefully we swing the axe and send him back to the VFL to regain some form. Will be a player but simply can’t keep being gifted games.

Wonder how many more weeks, nay years until they realise half fwd is not his best position?

Until he contributes?? Well if those fkn flogs in the box play him in the middle instead as a half forward or on the bench he may contribute!! #wooshayoucocksmokerplayblokesinthereproperposistion

Needs some confidence this kid, looks completely lost. Straight swap for Clarke.

He may improve but he is currently ordinary. Hardly warrants a spot.
I’m disappointed that he hasn’t really gone forward since 2016.
That relatively easy snap he missed in the last qtr and the set shot towards the end of the third qtr summed it up. A good player would’ve kicked them

Another Disco special

Most people on here wanted him so I think you are off the mark there.

In fact most people were absolutely delighted in that draft.

We’re not paid professionals.

He was highly rated. It was a toss up between him and Oliver according to many experts at the time. Seriously he has gone backwards just like most of our young blokes… actually all of them.

New coach, new development team and this guy could be a gun. Looks lost.

You sound bullish about him now rather than completely sceptical - what changed?

History will show it to be a weak draft

If the Dees hadn’t jumped up I think we may have ended up with both, we really wanted Oliver.

I was being polite as a few get offended.

For mine he doesn’t have the ability to get involved and I don’t think it will ever change.

Playing him around the ball will only exasperate our problems I believe because he isn’t a bull and doesn’t have the attacking ability that more balanced players need to thrive.

Yep, reckon we would have stuff up Oliver too though. Our development is seriously shot and our coaches don’t have a clue. We just set up players for failure.

I agree our list isn’t as strong as we thought/hoped but it isn’t bottom four by a long way. A lot of wasted talent right now.

As I keep saying, bring in a new coach and we could turn this around. If they had made the move four weeks ago we could have still made finals.

Nah he has too much mongrel in him.

It is a crime how we have killed the development of this man. If you watch his first 5 games of league footy they are on level with the way he plays now. Put him in the Richmond/ Sydney set up and he’d be a 30 disposal player by now.

Since he debuted he has not progressed.

It’s easy to lay the boots into players after a bad loss but it’s exactly players like Parish that have us languishing where we are.

Just hasn’t come on.

Doesn’t make him bad player, just pretty bang average and could be replaced by an improved version easily.

Let them be offended. I agree with you - I personally think that we can only afford to play one of goddard, heppell or parish. How many years do you give a player before you cut your losses is something nobody has ever given me an answer to. Three years is probably long enough to decide.

I think that him being a high pick is keeping him in the teAm at the moment.

Same reason we kept going back to players like Gumby and Myers and many others.

The better sides pick to players strengths and we do it the opposite.
