True

Guess it comes down to have much pride you have in your own caree

not so much his dog, but he has been seen pushing a pram around with a baby, and all parents on here will know how kids suck the life out of you.

The lack of understanding around the golf swing and the amount of torque that goes through your body when you swing is astounding.

Its not an old mans retirement sport anymore. Its for proper athletes, and i can guarantee Darcys back and calf problems would not benefit from him playing multiple rounds of golf.

Did I miss something and Darcy is now on the pro-tour?

Because I could swear lots of old blokes still play golf multiple times a week.

Old guys playing golf multiple times a week and darcy parish a 27 year old elite athlete playing golf is not the same thing.

He’d have clubhead speed of 125+mph which puts ENORMOUS strain on your body. Particularly your back and calves.

Have u seen a clip of darcy hit? Its def not anything to worry about and wouldn’t even be close to the number you mentioned.

Rath needs to take a good look at Darcy’s golf swing. Break down the biomechanics to make sure he’s there’s an efficient transfer of power to the ball.

I wonder whether we could trade Parish to Good Good or Bob Does Sports? Maybe get Fat Perez and a dozen Pro V1’s back as a sweetener?

Apparently he’s not even top 3 of Essendon golfers. Prior, Langford and Durham are our best. Rish doesn’t even make the top 50 list of AFL golfers.

I read that he was a bit peed off with the clubs work on his back and thats why he got outside help.

But back on topic…Fore!!!

Sorry @conjunctivitus but this is really clutching at straws IMO

Yep, spot on. With the issue being that he doesn’t seem to care enough about his AFL to curtail the golf until his body is back to playing. Footy - even training - causes enough stress on the body, any knock, niggles or tension in the wrong areas can be exacerbated considerably by playing golf. And the fact he is repeatedly having the same injuries, which are common for golfers suggest it at least a contributing factor.

I play golf with someone who had a bad back for a while and both his physio and a chiropractor told him to keep playing golf. They said it was good for stretching and exercising the back muscles and didn’t harm it in any way.
I know there are different types of back issues and that advice might not apply to all, and also that pro golfers can get bad backs, but the point is, golf isn’t necessarily bad for your back.

I don’t think anybody is saying that - more that a professional footballer who just smashed his body in a hard block of training in a contested sport, who then goes on a full week of golf is not ideal for back health.

Curious, how would you know this?

Hobby or Side Hustle?

Was reported above after a preseason block when they had a break a bunch of them went on a ten day golfing trip. I’m sure they instagramed it too.
