#30 - Nate Caddy - thru 2028

That one mark he took on the wing where he crashed through and attacked the hell out of it, I realised we haven’t had that player in the team for years and years

yep, thought he was excellent when the ball hit the deck and was clean with his disposal

disappointed like others that he couldn’t kick the goals, but at least he’s giving himself the opportunity

very solid debut

I wasn’t quite as impressed as others, bar that mark, but good to get a game into him. In no universe does he get a game before Jones

Iam not so sure jones last game he had five touches and caddy in he’s first had ten seven of them contested plus offered a actual threat up forward

Jones had a good 3 weeks and then has had 6, 7 and 5 touches for a total of 1 goal in the weeks following that little patch of form.

Massively overhyped.

Promising signs. He clearly believed he should be there. I liked his hands when dealing with the bounce of the ball. Unfortunately, the team really lacked Jones’s pressure which we unfortunately need since our other forwards (except Guelfi) are so poor in that regard.

But Jones brings defensive pressure, aerobic running and without him tonight it showed, the Tigers rebounded out of our f50 easily. Don’t underestimate the defensive stuff Jones brings. Most fans don’t realise how critical he’s been to that defensive, front half game.

Solid showing for a first gamer.

Now he has a taste and can go back to the vfl knowing what it takes.

Jones clearly ahead in the pecking order right now

I think Caddy has attributes that look far more damaging in the future than what Jones has but we’re 1 game in so that means next to nothing. Jones I think will be a solid player, but I really don’t understand the enormous way he is hyped up by the media and blitz. He’s tracking pretty ok, that’s all.

It’ll be a real contest for that last medium / tall spot over the next few years (assuming Langford, Wright and Stringer all play). But Jones absolutely has it for now.

his games not quite there, but his athleticism and his want to actually take body contact means that imo hes more likely to succeed than not

A very good looking bunch.
There’s a few of us around.

Raw dogged it and just played footy how he likes to rather than AFL footy. Meant that sometimes he marked it, sometimes he earned a free and sometimes got beaten.

Happy with his debut, not fussed if he goes out for Jones and continues to learn in the twos.

Thought the free for tunneling in the last was interesting.

He got it because he played in front and only cared for the footy.

But he also got it because he misread it and run under the footy, then had to backtrack and partly caused the collision.

He puts both arms up and tries to take it at the highest point. He also likes contact. Keep him in. Find a way to pump games into him.

I think he stays in the side for mine.
Jones last three weeks have been pretty average and before it gets mentioned about Jones and the pressure he brings in he’s last game he had 4 pressure acts and caddy had nine last night

The hype around jones after a couple of decent games is absolutely ridiculous. There’s probably a spot for him, but let’s not pretend he’s irreplaceable.
