#30 - Nate Caddy - thru 2028

Spot on in my mind he’s no automatic in and should be made to earn he’s spot as well it will benefit the team in the long run

Id say Jones still gets his spot back. Without hitting the scoreboard as much, ive been happy with his mobility and running up the ground. I thought we looked a bit off without him. Nate was probably a straight kick away from a great debut, but was happy with the output. He kept bobbing up. Didnt go missing.

Metricon is a greasy ■■■■ show… much like the Tigers game…which gives us good practice in these conditions.

With that in mind. I’d be tempted to play neither. Plays 2 rucks and take an extra mid or 2.

The game will be won and lost on the deck…not in the air.

Jones is better on the deck than any of our rucks

With Cox injured Jones can come back in

2MP,Caddy,Jones,Langford

For a key forward in his first game he had genuine presence.

He was constantly where the ball was and rightfully won free kicks because his opponent couldnt contain him, and if he didnt receive the free kick its because hes misjudged his run up at the ball.

I would send him up again this week in the seniors with Jones especially given Wright is the 2nd ruck and Stringer needs to spend more time in the midfield with the injuries we have.

Yes. But there will be loads of stoppages and he doesn’t ruck. Wright, Bryan and Goldy all do.

Brad seemed pretty happy with how Caddy performed post game reckon he stays in

They certainly don’t

Jones had the virus last week, hence extended time on bench and subbed off.

Would love to see Caddy and Jones together next week. They bring different things and I think Caddy deserves another game. Would it work if Goldy got a spell with Wright and Bryan sharing rucking duties 50/50? Would probably need Stringer and/or Gresham going into the midfield more but I think it could work.

It could work if we sent The Langford to the Wing position

We shouldn’t be moving pieces to accommodate Caddy yet.

He did look good though.

Early days, but if 2MP doesn’t show some desperation and impact on games, then l could see Caddy taking his place, rather than replacing Jones. As a debut it was so-so, missing a couple of very kickable goals didn’t help his case. Balta beat him on the night, but l would expect that against a young kid. He’s had a taste now, it is up to him to keep working hard and press his case for more games in the seniors.

What about the two weeks before that were he had 7 and 6 touches

Langford is a damn fine full forward, leave him there.

it was a joke

Kicked 3.2 from 13 possies, including 6 marks (most of them contested) today in the VFL.

Looked the goods!

He was damn good today. He’s obviously a talent and a very exciting prospect. But his early career has been marred by strange inconsistency (back injury that took a while to settle, tooth busted out early in game, held over emergency, poor VFL team performance).

Today was the first time I watched him and thought ‘he’s better than the VFL’.

So brave in the air and very clean at ground level. His ability to disregard everything except the ball is striking. And he’s got some genuine aggression towards the ball. Would love to see him get a good run in the seniors before season’s end.

He didn’t mind getting into Skunk’s ear about structures and set up every time he came off for a break. He’s involved.
