If he tries to do anything else, and let’s be honest most of our players would have, he gets tackled and loses the ball.

That was the only play that results in a goal, and it was down to him reacting and executing so quickly.

Despite his unpredictable nature, I thought “he’s going to kick this over his head” just before it happened. Then yelled “CADDYYYYY” and jump off the couch as it went through. Waking up a very quiet housegold.

Misses the easiest goal ever, then kicks one of the hardest. This kid is gonna be the end of me.

He should be stepping up and kicking bags by then if it is on the same trajectory as Lloyd was at the same age.

Adjusted down by around 20% for goalkickers’ amounts in this era. But if that means he’s getting 40+ you’d love that return.

We likely wouldn’t have Clarke, Gerreyn and who/whatever we use the Demons pick on though.
Likely also wouldn’t have the Saints 2nd.
That’s alot to give up for Murphy Reid, as good as he’s looked early. Helps to actually look at the whole picture.

Also, we traded up for Jones.

No I do just mean it’s early days. When you trade out selections it does make you wonder what our draft board looked like.

Murphy Reid looks like a gun. Be interesting to see where he lands on that draft redone in a couple of years.

Yeah, probably best we don’t have this discussion for the 20th time (unless I remember incorrectly, you were pretty against the trade at the time too).

Just keeping to Murphy Reid though, would have made for some interesting decisions at the end of the year with Huss/Sweid coming through (assuming they keep to their current levels).

I assume Reid transitions to the midfield at some point (from memory was more of a mid at u18 level). Not sure a 181cm mid would have been too high up on our list.

Anyway, that’s probably enough from me on that in the Caddy thread .

I really didn’t like the deal at the time. Especially when North put their future first up live anyway as a back out plan for a Kako bid from Melbourne.

But anyhow.

“Any pick we like [Caddy, Roberts] was Rosa and any pick (or indeed any contracting decision) we don’t [the others] was Dodoro”

yeah, its a p1ss take. Dodoro was panicking that they were going to lose Caddy to Geelong, so he traded up to take him.

Worth noting that O’Sullivan is flying at Geelong and was always there target imo because they knew Neil was coming through

It was Rosa’s call to trade up for Caddy… Dodoro was there, but he never made deals like that.

On paper, it wasn’t a good trade for us. Pick 11 and pick 31 for pick 10. Dodoro never did anything that looked bad on paper.
