#30 - Nate Caddy - thru 2028

Caddy was worth trading up…the bigger issue was Scott not dropping games late in the season so could have kept our second rounder, like Swans doing in plain sight this year.

Scott did the same again last year, forcing us to miss out on getting a pick in before Kako bid.

Swans academy kid rated about pick 8, similar to kako, but they will have a top 5 pick plus him.

true, lose to cats by over 100 points combined in the two games that year yet finish above them because we scrape ugly ugly wins at marvel vs bottom 2 (norf, WC).

I love watching Nate and that goal was ace, but I do agree with the comments that you’ll see school kids do that at lunchtime everyday. Think it was a bit overblown. Still, goal of the week, well done lad!

It’s not just about the actual kick - it’s that he attempted it at all -under the glare of AFL football as a teenager in his first handful of games.

How many other players would have the stones to even go for this low-percentage play? Barely anyone, because you need to have extreme confidence and belief to commit to such unorthodoxy in modern football.

Kid has aura.

I’m shocked he didn’t rip his hammy off the bone at both ends.

Very impressive

Well he’s in good company.

How good was Wanganeen, even when he loses a contest he still looks spectacular.

They need a GF winning culture.

Keep him away from the media circus and concentrate on his game.

Reality check tonight. Still runs under the footy and I think is a thought ahead of actually getting the pill.

Had career best games against Sydney and Brisbane with two quieter ones in between. His next step is to have two good contributions two weeks in a row.

He was fine. Service was junk but he still managed to impact. It’s going to be a rollercoaster to 70-odd games but take the good with the bad and know that 17 other teams would kill for his competitiveness & work rate.

Silvagni is a very crafty defender. Used his body to constantly have Caddy under the ball. The thing is, once he gets another 5kg of muscle on that frame he won’t be getting pushed under it and then he’ll wreak havoc on the comp.

Yeah very poor tonight on occasions felt like he didn’t even compete in the air. In fact a lot of our team didn’t and that’s what cost us the win. Can’t be too mad though he’s had a few great weeks before tonight.

Need to solve this issue running under the ball, need to have him take some chest marks on the lead to be getting reps at goal

Was putrid tonight but still produced the highlight of the game.

There will be more ups than downs.

I’d stay away from chest marks and have him stick the hands out at least.

Had a perfect opportunity to mark on the lead tonight but the defender got a fist in due to this.

One of his lesser games but he’s a teenager who was mostly in 2vs1 contests for most of the night.
What didn’t change was his work rate.

Super excited to see his ongoing development. He’s going to be a star.
