FFS the kid is a gun.
We just have so many terrible kicks in this team and have 1 in every 30 forward entries kicked to our players advantage.
Oath.
Would be nice if we kicked to his advantage.
Thereās so much hype around Caddy. Thanks BT and Co. Heās still played less than 25 games.
Dropping standard marks like today that should have resulted in a straightforward shot on goal are what worries me. He can pull something fairly special out of the bag every now and then but if he canāt consistently do the basics whatās the point? For sure he needs help from the mids and more support fwd tho
Heās tracking fine. Had a quiet game against Geelong; heās 19 and trying to lead our forward line.
Until the 2nd half of the 2027 season, at least.
Being a KP forward, will need 60 - 70 games to gain consistency, and iron out the weaknesses in his game.
Iām confident he will get there.
Iām also certain there will be plenty of frustrating games like today in the immediate future.
I said thereās stuff all evidence heās being coached properly.
He was pretty invisible tonight and Iām not sure anything was really attempted by the coaches to increase his effectiveness.
If heās as blue chip as many here seem to believe, then he needs the best coaching, not cam fkn roberts.
Yep, incredibly young for a key forward. Which is not to say in other circumstances he might be given a few weeks in the VFL to get some practice at (hopefully) being dominant. Doubtful that happens right now though.
Canāt mark, canāt defend⦠Needs some time in the Magoos to learn his craft.
Making absolute statements about a 19yo key position player prior to them playing 50+ games is a sign of brain eating amoeba.
he isnāt a gun yet.
he definitely has the potential to be one, but he sure as ā ā ā ā aināt anywhere near one at present.
the goal over the head has made him think he has to do special ā ā ā ā like that with every disposal almost.
he needs to get back to basics pretty quickly or he should be dropped. missed easy marks, attempts at another goal of the inclusion instead of easy handballs to players in open space.
granted heās not the only one who has to get back to doing the basics and mundane stuff, but itās definitely slightly concerning that he may have already drunk a fair bit of his own bath water due to one goal
I agree it would be nice, but he would still run under the ball.
So based on this one game youāre suggesting this is all the evidence you need to make the assertion that heās not being coaching properly. ![]()
I think itās been pretty obvious to anyone with a functioning pair of eyes this season.
Are you really that surprised?
Do you actually think youāve seen evidence that this coaching group has any fkn idea at all how to improve players?
Given how well Angus Clarke, Zak Johnsonā¦hell even Luamon Lual doesnāt look out of place when they debuted Iād say thatās evidence to say thatās a damn sight better than a few years ago when players would rock up from VFL to AFL and literally looked like busts (Ned Cahill for example). Your judgement is off one game against Geelong when we were turning it over from our half back line. That last quarter Geelong were living inside our forward 50 and youāre coming out with āNate Caddy is being coached badlyāā¦
No more excuses Nate.
Morris from brissy has improved out of site strong mark and a goal kicker, same size same draft, has Caddy comprehensively covered
He was invisible all night, not just the last qtr.
Iāve already said itās not just this game that makes me question the coaching.
being enamoured with the young players is pretty standard early on for every kid that pulls on the jumper, means absolutely nothing re: the context of whether theyāre actually being coached well until youāve seen a decent sample size.
Which we have with some players.
I think caddy has a lot to work with but I have zero faith in the coaches around him.
Morris plays in a good side that develops players well unfair to compare imo
Stop with the excuses, ball comes in enough, if he cant take a mark get him out of the forward line
