I would get Matty to spend the pre season with him or even Nick Reiwoldt who he seems to be close with to teach him.
I donāt mind him having off days coz heās young but for the first time i can remember, there has been a number of times Iāve thought he has displayed a lack of effort the past 2 weeks. I didnāt think he had it in him, which is disappointing.
He needs some serious help, took his first mark 10 minutes into the last quarter outside 50.
Surprised the Geelong fans didnāt give him an ironical cheer.
2nd year foward still learning his craft. Itāll take time, extended out because heāll never get the service Morris gets and heās not surrounded by the talent other forward lines have.
Heās doing plenty right. Wish we could go a bit easier on him.
The pressure is equally on every player as it should be, he needs to massively improve like plenty of others, heād know that deep down no matter the outside noise.
This is the whole problem with Caddy and Kako, they arenāt being played to suit their abilities - once the team is stronger again, hopefully both can be played to their strengths instead of having it kicked over their heads with big defenders all over them.
No chance either of them should be dropped.
Who in the VFL is going to do a better job in our current depleted side? I just donāt get all this chat about dropping him.
I donāt want him dropped, l want him to become the dominating force forward that l know he can be. His work rate is fantastic, but he is too easily moved off the ball. While he usually takes the front spot in marking contests he doesnāt hold those marks and often doesnāt even get a finger on the ball. That is a judgement issue, and can be overcome with practice.
I want him to be a dominating force up forward also, I think he can eventually become a Curnow/Cameron type inside 50. But itās a lot to expect from a 19 year old that has just ticked over 20 games. And is playing in a heavily depleted middle of the road side, meaning at times is the only capable marking forward inside 50 drawing all of the key defenders.
I think one of his main strengths being the roaming Riewoldt type who is pushing up to the wings, and winding around kicking to the leading forwards. He does this at times, but as soon as 2MP goes on the ball and Goldstein is up forward, Caddy is the only marking presence to kick to. I love what Goldy has brought to us, but he canāt mark the ball inside 50, poor guy can barely leave the ground.
I think both Kako and Caddy are being played out of their strongest positions at the moment. Kako shouldnāt be leading out from goal with Guthrie all over him, he should be up the ground creating.
And Caddy shouldnāt be lingering 30m out with a bigger defender all over him. Until 2MP and Draper are the main kicking targets again, with Langford offering the 3rd marking option - Caddy has to be the man. And heās a 19 year old kid in his second season.
I love what he is gaining from all of these games, and ditto for Kako.
Good luck marking a ball from dogshit delivery in the forward line.
That said, they could actually lead.
So both midfield and forwards are ā ā ā ā ā ā .
Geez I hope not, because that poser will never win a premiership, so I hope Caddy learns from Cameron
I think heās tracking to be a decent enough forward, and has potential to be more than that.
But right now he is the most over hyped player in the league.
WTF
Morris has Lachie Neale, Hugh McLuggage and Will Ashcroft spotting him up. They have a system which won a flag.
Caddy has ⦠well yeah.
Heās a 19yo tasked with leading the forwardline in a ā ā ā ā team. Not saying youāre wrong, but it wouldnāt be any surprise if he was pretty exhausted at the moment.
Wont be long till we Essington Caddy and he becomes an average player you can add Kako to that as well
Bewick could be the next Nick Daiscos and the club will find a way to destroy him
One to many talls down there.
Not his fault we actually needed speed
I think what is being under appreciated in this thread is we literally have another 10 years to compare him to 0āSullivan, rich blitz content.
while the delivery is dogshit as you say, thatās where the need to push him to be switched on for the whole game, so on the rare occassion they actually do deliver it to him in a good position, heās not dropping it.
he has to be focused all game to capitilise on the very few clean chances he gets
My nomination. (No not Fyfe)

Wouldnāt mind someone who could put Fyfe on his arse in a push and shove contest.
needs to figure out how to stop runnung under the ball . I donāt reckon itās all delivery . it looks like over enthusiasm. his opponents have no such trouble reading the ball in the air
