Going at pick 10 or whatever is still a monumental achievement and indicative of a very good junior footballer that may develop into a very good AFL player.
There really isnāt a need to talk it down, itās literally the very beginning of his career.

Thing is geelong didnāt play us like a fiddle, cal twomey said there were offers from other clubs to Geelong to move up to get caddy. Thus, we gave up a second rounder to get him.

So Geelong were going to part ways with their first round pick this year, for a future pick next year from west coast?
The only club Geelong could have traded with to get Sullivan and an unnecessary bonus pick, is Essendon.
They gave him Selwoods number ffs.

If they took Caddy, they probably also could have given him Selwoods number.
If they traded out entirely, they could have given someone else Selwoods number.
