#31 Zach Reid

I think it was fair to say he needed to go back the the two’s after those first few weeks, he was pretty bad, but agree permanently writing him off might have been a bit far. I think people were disappointed coz he was the great white hope of that draft and looked all at sea. It was one the coaches finally got right in giving him more time, the turn around from i think the crows game to the following weak was crazy. I’d be interested to know what the coaches did with him in that week off actually.

Yeah me too, I was pretty certain he had missed too much footy. I was 100% wrong, the guys a legit superstar in the making. The kinda CHB you build a team around.

This guy is imperious in the way he can stop his man and come off his man to intercept. The icing on the cake is how he can lace it out with 60 metre kicks.
Mind you. The Bin Chicks forward line is ■■■■.

Lets see how we go against a much better, albeit young tall forward at the dogs. Its a good match up.

Reid…

Reid.

There’s always another H Reid.

There are very few Z Reids.

Well no. There is no reason to rob Peter to pay Paul.

His disposal and calmness with ball in hand is so impressive, the opposite of Redman and McGrath that move a million miles an hour and look like they’ll shat their dacks under pressure. Reid is calm, composed, skilled and defends well and is now intercep marking. He could very well be the best defender in the comp in a years time. He deserves all the praise for what he’s been through.

Someone needs to do a Zach Reid field kicking compilation on YouTube. It might get an age restriction given how sexy it would be.

He played a good game, he probably needs to play at least 3-4 years at that level to be in the conversation as best defender in the comp. Injuries are the still his biggest hurdle. History tells me injury prone players generally remain injury prone, even Gumby played 1 full season or close to. Fingers crossed I’m wrong.

It’s more reasonable if it was a few weeks, sounds like it might have been three or four stinkers in a row, but the reality is he played two bad games.

Week 1 - was bad on Chol
Week 2 - was bad on Fogarty in a thrashing
Week 3 - was good on Georgiades after both McKay and Ridley failed

That was it. His 10th and 11th AFL games were bad. The first was his first game at any level in 9 months, and the second was a game where the team conceded 25 goals (and his direct opponent kicked 3.1).

People are obviously allowed to get as worked up as they want, and make whatever calls they want as early as they want, but Reid only played two bad games this year before he turned it around.

Even if Perkins and Cox immediately moved to Zambia to provide seed capital to an organic corn field…this would still have been one of the best drafts in recent memory.

Reid is that good.

So true…
Not going anywhere…
Opens Fox Footy online - St Kilda offer Z Reid $13m over 10 years*.
Think he’s just secured an extra $300k a year regardless.

*not true but not out of bounds of reality…

The way things are going we may need a "“Herbyunc” YouTube that posts happy clips.

What a time to be alive.

I have long pondered (well for a month or so) what it would cost us to poach H Reid and A Reid from West Coast and pair them with Z. Probably way more than we’d be prepared to give up, but on that point…I’d probably go harder for Archer Reid than Harley at this stage.

He does do a very good Fletcher impression at times- especially the way he can nimbly drop to the deck when the ball spills and shoot out a little release handball from under serious heat.

So composed.
