Soooo what are we talking about? Aren’t you just venting your frustration in a verbal way at one particular player. If anything booing would be less offensive yeah.
Well, the conversation was about booing and I said thag I have never heard anyone boo our players.
Never said anything about yelling abuse at them, just boo.
Every team has supporters who abuse their players, every single team.
This is true, particularly if you’re the whipping boy for that team. Just this year I saw hawks fans absolutely hammering Scrimshaw in round 1. Yelling horrendous things towards him which he definitely would of been able to hear. FC fans are the worst with turning on their players.
I don’t see much difference in someone saying for example “BOOO, STANTON YOUR HOPELESS” than saying STANTON YOUR HOPELESS. To me, they are both booing a player. I think booing is just the opposite of supporting. But collectively booing like what West Coast did to Jobe is just another type of booing. Probably on my own on this one.
The players race is where i do my best work
I realise all that but I don’t want to go down that path on a footy forum.
Bit like the guy at the travel agent in a monty python sketch. Can’t pronounce the letter C.
“ Can you pronounce the the letter K? Try that instead."“K? Yes! What a silly kunt”
I find it quite sad that fans think they have a ‘right’ to boo, jeer or abuse players as if the money they spend on their ticket is more valuable than the players wellbeing. Anyone who does it is a ■■■■■■■■ in my opinion and no one will ever change my mind on that.
Okay so you have rights and other people don’t. You can call them what you want and they aren’t allowed to boo. Cool
I think we all have the right to call out poor behaviour and abusing a player is a ■■■■■■■■ behaviour.
this isn’t me saying I am better than anyone. This is me saying that anyone who abuses players should be a better person.
I never bood Humphrey, but I clearly remember yelling” oh for farks sake stants” on many occasions, slats was another, although I did have a soft spot for him because he was just a goer.
Mckay has been half arsing it for ages. If theres one acceptable reason to boo your own player then surely its that. Fans are going through it and are still spending time/money to watch a losing team and this bloke looks like he gives 10% effort at most. The contract and continued selection of him is one of the more embarrasing chapters for the club thats had plenty to pick from.
I remember Kevin walsh was booed in his first two years until his form turned around. Walsh was an old school footballer who never had a manager.
All good ![]()
Stants would be a weapon on a wing in todays game
You’re eminently qualified …
Did ok in up forward
But Caddy cracked it because they stopped kicking it to his leads
Before McKay came, forwards regularly kicked bags on us. With McKay, no matter how bad we’ve been, forwards haven’t kicked bags. Reid had four kicked on him in one quarter.
I don’t like the way McKay plays, but the reason they paid him big money was because of the regularity forwards kicked bags against us. For all his faults he was effective in some areas. We are struggling down back.
The problem is he’s deadset scared of the football. Absolute car crash whenever he gets near the pill. I don’t know whether the retirement rumours are true or not, but if he is at the club next season the new coach has his work cut out fixing him. He’s needs a psychologist as much as a footy coach.
