McKay being close friends with Ridley already augurs well for working well together in the backline.
If we can keep all 3 of McKay, Reid and Ridley fit, I donāt see any big forwards getting hold of us like they did this year, add Redman, McGrath, you probably have our 5 locks for the backline, who will be 6 and 7th backs? Cox will probably get a look I think. I see Baldwin, Lav, Hayes and Weid being the back up for the tall backs, so we have probably have the key back positions covered better than anywhere else on the ground.
As far as small backs go, we are pretty light on, Massimo would be a significant loss to the side. Ourt depth is pretty much Hind and Heppell, and I suspect Brad wonāt be dropping Heppell too quickly.
I think we will be trying to recruit some small/medium backline talent or possibly trying out some mid field talent there.

Hopefully one of our mids takes a team approach and can play on a back flank and carve it up like Daicos. Cox also can play tall/small so I think the backline could look alright if Reid and Cox can stay on the park and show their worth

If midfield doesnāt pressure properly or turns ball over too easily then McKay will get burnt just as easily if not worse than Zerk on the lead
But if we are forcing the longer higher balls in then McKay wonāt get pushed around & intercept better than Zerk did
