Has Hawkins retired?
What a fkn joke. Ah well, it’s done now and we need to back the big fella in.
Get that man an Essendon polo
These AFL transfer regulations are very complicated - they seem to have been dreamed up in Hogwarts.
If Norf “elected not to match the offer” that we made, why do they get a “Round One Compensation pick (currently pick 3)” ? And where does this “pick 3” come from ? - we don’t have that high a pick…
Well because if they elected to match the offer and he stayed, there’d be no need for them to be compensated, would there?
Of course not. But tnat doen 't answer my question ! Why if they chose not to match our offer are they due compensation at all, never mind a first round pick ?
My only issue with signing Ben is that it will have strengthened Norf’s draft hand and weakened ours by pushing pick 8 to pick 9.
This is where I feel like list management decisions like these has let us down over the past 20 odd years.
Surely this is easy to rort. We pay $850K for a Freo spud, they get pick 1 compo then throw us a decent player as steak knives and pay the spud’s salary.
Depending on how serious North were about matching a non-pick 3 compensation contract, it could have weakened our draft hand far more than sliding back 1 pick.
Okay - I see he’s only been 7 years at Norf, instead of 8, so the RFA rules don’t apply. God, it’s complicated - and deliberately so, I reckon.
Kings Birthday Eve
Mckay vs Mckay
Looking forward to that match up
History suggests one of them will be injured/suspended.
BMck is much better than someone we dont have atm

Hopefully one of our mids takes a team approach and can play on a back flank and carve it up like Daicos.
Hopefully that is a role that Duursma can embrace.
Ridley will be over the moon to have this man next to him
Ridley and Mckay to be the best keys back duo LID OFF
You reckon they’ll be better than May and Lever?
I hope you are right but, well, it’s a really high bar.
Probably not but May and Lever are both coming towards the end
