How nice was it to see one of our players crumb and then kick an around the body snap goal. Usually when our players try that the ball goes straight up in the air or falls short to a defender on the goal line.

His forward craft is spot on. Knows where to position himself, knows how to crumb, knows how to find the goals, is quick hand to boot. All things that are so important for a crafty small forward.
He needs to get fit enough. So hopefully he is willing to putbin the work.
Plus he needs to be willing to put in the effort defensively.
If he can do those 2 things, we have a great small forward on our hands, and a great partner for Kako.

He is a good example of the kinds of players that have been largely lost to the AFL now that the running demands are so high.
Also explains some of the issues regarding indigenous recruitment.
And why the overall skill level has dropped.
If he was born 20 to 30 years earlier he’d have been a 500 goal player.

I thought he put in a lot more work definisively than his first stint at AFL level.
He looks the goods around goals. I don’t think he will rack up high disposals, as he is more of a high impact player.

He just needs to get fitter.
He’s got the ability in spades. Even the body positioning in marking contests - that’s something smalls normally develop, not come with straight out of the box.
He gets to AFL fitness, he’ll have a damn good AFL career.

He doesn’t have the speed of the wizard, but he has great ability of getting to the ball drop and firing off a quick shot at goal.

Not the speed, but does have the agility.
And I think he has very good vision regarding ability to put the ball to the advantage of a teammate.

The crumb where Haynes dropped a soda was pure class from a small forward. Such a classy finish off one step.

I think the biggest obstacle in his way to afl fitness is his loving mother and her ability to cook outrageous succulent meats.

I think people will need to manage their expectations as to where his build is going to end up. I reckon he will always be a stocky looking player as I suspect there are genetics in play. In a way it helps him as he has a low centre of gravity and appears very strong through the core - allows him to not get pushed off the ball (or over) easily, which is very helpful for a small forward.
(Does he need to work on fitness? Of course.)

Agree with this post completely. Recruiters and teams (not all of them) not looking to put in the hard yards to get the player living an elite lifestyle.
Huss is definitely they type of player to take a punt on. Good thing for us is his mateship with Kako who is really fit can guide him as almost a leader.
Think it will be a really good one two punch for us, Kako is that Gryan Miers get up the ground to get 20 touches and a goal, and Huss can be a Stengle type crumber or lead up deep forward.
I think he’s shown really good sign so far Huss.
