#34 - Luamon Lual

I thought he showed glimpses last season.

Now, those glimpses were between a lot of struggle, but definitely some glimpses.

He definitely has the talent, but he’s another one that i feel has the attributes that would make him a very good player, if he got some one on one time with David Rath.

The main 3 i want Rath working with are Hobbs, Lual and Nguyen, the latter 2 have elite athletic profiles, but their kicking can be inconsistent. Actually maybe add Roberts to that too, but he needs a little less work.

It’s such an asset we have in Rath, we need to use him more in this area.

Add 2MP and Cox to that list

Cox is fine with the physical stuff

What has Rath done so far that’s made a big impact? Not being smart but how has he impacted the group or individuals?

Lual will be delisted in 6 months.

Doubt

He has the athletic traits but doesn’t know much about the game, at this stage he is boderline to stay or go.

Well i thought he fixed tsatas kicking up until 2 weeks ago. I think he also has helped caddy and kako in their set shot kicking which was poor as juniors, but maybe they fixed it themselves.

One thing he has though is courage, unlike your typical dodoro project player.

Outside of Mosquito, who went after those players who were misses? Maybe one or two between Eyre and Brand, but that’s about it.

Edit: sorry, just looking at thread and didn’t realise initial posts were from so long ago.

Got to worry about a Cox not liking the physical stuff

If I’m Rosa and Brad. Cox is gone end of this year

Well if he can’t get over this concussion thing he will just be a non starter. The season will fizzle out and there will be no option but to cut ties.

Weird bump, but I guess you need to defend your man Dodoro at every opportunity. In answer to your question:

2018 draft after Mosquito:

Jack Ross - Pick 43
Justin McInerney - Pick 44
Noah Answerth - Pick 55
Connor Idun - Pick 61
Toby Bedford - Pick 75

2019 draft after Cahill:

Michael Frederick - Pick 61

2020 draft after Eyre and before Brand:

Beau McCreery - Pick 44
Ollie Lord - Pick 49
Brandon Walker - Pick 50

2020 draft after Brand:

Eddie Ford - Pick 56
Jacob Wehr - Pick 59

2021 draft after Lord and before McDonagh:

Marcus Windhager - Pick 47

2021 draft after McDonagh:

None to note (Jackson Archer and Jason Burgoyne selected after McDonagh but they were F/S selections)

You didn’t seem to read my post.

If you take out academy players like Windhager and 2018, that is a pretty dire list and I think makes my point.

I like the part of these discussions where after 5 years people get a list of 50 players and get to pick their absolute favourites.

Seems like lual has a great attitude and he has a dip but he just lacks any elite traits.

Freijah taken at 43 would have been excellent drafting. Said with the benefit of hindsight obviously but it’s the job of our recruiters to get these calls right

Isn’t that how it works? I’m the best draft manager 4 years after the draft happened

Watched a reasonable amount of VFL last year, ever really saw much to get excited about, but the game never seemed to come to him.

I hope they give him a proper role and let him learn it. Am I right that he’s a wing in the VFL now? Or wing half forward? I don’t care what it is, let him find his feet
