He’s not a pressure forward like smith and guelf. We need some pressure inside 50 so the ball doesn’t come back out as quick as it goes in
The kids has IT…
might be an idea to fark snelling out of the middle and play him forward…snelling that is
7 tackles between them and they played all 4 quarters.
Not really applying a heap of pressure
Martin laid 3 in a half, if you think Devon is a pressure forward you’re kidding yourself, he can barely run these days
@IceTemple? That’s weird.
Well then tell truck he’s kidding himself.
Unless you think he’s in the team for another role?
Yeah I can’t work out why Snelling was starting in the centre square.
Are we trying to be a bit cute? He is not a midfielder when you consider whose opportunity he’s taking up
I thought we were quite experimental. Snelling in the centre. Some odd positions to expose some weaknesses
Nope I think he’s in there as HF/small forward except he’s not very good at it anymore. He’s lost any penetration in his kicking, he’s slow and doesn’t tackle anymore. He’s not adding much value is he?
You’re not getting a game as a small forward in 2022 if you’re not in there to apply forward pressure
We can’t have Smith, guelfi and Snelling as our small forwards and expect to them to kick our goals. Their defence should be good, bit we needs some X factor in there somewhere if stringer is gonna be spending more time up the ground.
You’re not getting a game as a small forward in 2022 if you’re not in there to apply forward pressure
Edit - wrong thread
If we’re comparing he laid more tackles than smith and only played half a game
Yeah smith didn’t have a great night but it’s only a praccy and he’s a veteran who we know can lay tackles/apply pressure

I don’t think his body allows him to anymore, it’s sad to see, he was a tacking machine but that knee injury has destroyed his pace/agility
He should play Round 1. Just looks a player, massive Caracella vibes about him, especially his running gait and the way he moves with apparent little effort. Got very good hands and orientation on the footy field. A good reader of the play.
He’s a natural, great recruiting Dods.
He’s a player for sure 12 touches in a quarter, smooth mover pretty good defensively if ham gets picked over him in round one iam burning Tulla to the ground
Smith and Snelling had game high 23 pressure acts.
Interesting to note that Harry Jones had 21.
Can play. Round 1 off the bench for me. Footy IQ, Skills and work rate. Sold.
