#37 - Nic Martin - thru 2031

None of the guys that signed long term contracts at the time were injury afflicted.

And yet it didn’t work out long term

You don’t give a guy who is coming over 2 knee reco’s in two season a long term deal without first seeing if he can get through a whole season unscathed

i reckon draper’s cost him a fair bit of his leap but he didn’t seem shed any pace or lateral movement

Longmire made me think we’re different, we’ve changed, there’s hope.

Needlessly extending a player’s contract by 4 years after 2 x ACLs and no games across the last 2 years is peak Essington.

He played no games in 2025? Interesting.

4 years extension is okay for me. He aggravated his ACL after trying to rush back so 2 x ACLs is bit misleading. Plus ACLs are not career ending as they once were.

Semantics, by time he plays again in March it will be 20-21 months since his last game in July 2025.

Misinformation is semantics? Interesting.

There’s plenty of players who make it back, and some don’t, but why extend someone before you have some exposed game form to adjudge it by. If it’s because of Tassy then extend by a year, not four.

I’d imagine this decision has been a pretty well informed one, with input from Inness, medical team, surgeon and from how he is going on the track.

He played 16 games in 2025. So your statement is wrong.

Yep we’ve covered this above.

ā€œWeā€ did, you didn’t.

Thanks for clarifying that one Champion.
