Bad news for the efc car park
Unfortunately I find it hard to watch the VFL games these days. How has Bourke been performing? Am I right in saying he’s only played two games?
Yes. Played a decent 2nd game too. Long way to go but he is tracking ok

Importantly he did well at avoiding giving away high contact frees a couple of times when Tasmanian players - ahem - ‘slipped’. Certainly looks a good athlete.

Been building this year.
Had some really nice moments. Intercept and lace out inside 50 was great.
He just sometimes doesn’t have the feel of play. Like when he gets caught or in tight. He doesn’t know how to sort of dispossess himself cleanly without holding it in or dropping the ball.
That stuff will come with more time since he’s late to the game and only gripe o have of him. He was more than serviceable today and looked good as the game went on!

Have some respect he actually died for about 8 seconds there. Only bravely resuscitated when the whistle went.
I’d love to hear the umpire’s reasoning as to why that would have been a free kick. No tackle, wasn’t arm or shoulder. Just a head touched (maybe) a player’s midriff.

Would he be competing for a spot with them?
I’d think he would be more the mid size spot/s, Prior /Lang/ Kondo this year; Ridley/Lav in recent years.
He looks like he’s filled out a bit over the year.

my money is that he’ll eventually be a run-off-half-back or winger type.
Actually wild to think he’d never touched a footy before this year. I know he’s a great athlete with the round ball but typically takes a long time for the skills to convert. Blown away by his ball use.
Once he understands the game a little better he will be flying.
