Who would be the eligible players for the FarkCarlton vs Eagles game?
You would think Johnson has it sorted for the week. Fantastic game for a team that was demolished but you never know.

Add bailey smith to that list, dead set have no idea what the ball will do, he fits into the category of being such a bad kick it’s impossible to defend
Still not sure we can carry both Johnson and Lindsay in the same backline, at least one of them will need to be able to defend to a reliable degree otherwise play up field in an outside role but neither has an elite running game which is needed in the modern game.
I hope he gets a Rising Star nod.
Surely Roberts is top 3 for the award.
Dewar for eagles.
he got a few disposals last week.
You could be right, but then GWS play both Ash and Whitfield, and the Dogs for many years played Dale and Daniel. The benefit of a guy like Johnson or Lindsay is their size + skill level combination gives them more flexibility to play other roles like wing or half forward. Sometimes they even move into the midfield.
What looks like bad workrate can also just be lack of running power.
When our half forwards are slow inside midfielders who have never played the role, or 1st year players, no wonder we get exposed in transition play
Dewar for eagles and Binns for Carlton look the most likely

It could work, but assuming you take 7 defenders into a game you would need your 5 defenders to be good enough to make up for the two designated offensive rebounders.
Ridley, McGrath and Reid are good enough imo (when they are fit), but I’m not convinced by Prior as a medium defender, McKay as a FB and I’m still not sure what Redman’s ideal role in the backline is. Is he a rebounder or a can he be trusted as a medium defender?
And where does that leave Roberts? As lindsay would be competing with him as that smaller high possession HB.
Could we fit all 3 of Roberts, Johnson and Lindsay into the back group and leave the bulk of the defence to McGrath, Reid, Ridley and whomever is the FB. It would certainly need all 3 HB to lift as a defenders to contain the small forwards that are proliferating the comp
Think they will give it to Binns from here
Still have Nguyen potentially pushing hard for a defensive role too.
I think you’re making a distinction between a “rebounder” and a “defender” that doesn’t exist in reality or doesnt need to. Its rare that you play someone with a purely offensive role, its always a balance. Even if you’ve assigned a small defender a hard lockdown role, they’ll still be required to get involved going forward.
McGrath at times is our most enthusiastic rebounder, and by most reports is our most capable small defender. Roberts disposal skills aren’t good enough to consider him a potent rebounder at this stage but he works hard defensively, runs hard offensively and attacks contests.
I’m also not putting Lindsay and Johnson into a “offense only” box to the extent that we have to carry their lack of defensive capability through system or other players making up for their lack. One is an 18 year old figuring things out and the other hasn’t even been drafted yet.
Agreed. With McCarthy close as well.
McCarthy is about 4 years too old.
Oh yeah. Whoops lol
Having said this he hasn’t touched it since 3/4 time so still a chance for Zak
I think Zak’s a fair chance…but who knows what the AwFL will do!!
Looking at the stats actually Dewar would be a red hot chance for it, could go any of the three ways with Johnson, Binns and Dewar
The mind blowing thing is guys like him keep getting overlooked by every club consistently. How was he one of the last ND players picked?
