Thanks, Houli_Dooli - but that’s still on X, which I’m boycotting.

He’s also very young, just snuck in for eligibility in his draft year.

Pretty sure he’s the youngest player in the AFL. So yeah, stacks of upside with this kid.

In another play he did a no look over the shoulder handball that was very smooth. Sees the game very well

I believe he was injured early in the season. Missed the combine, etc… Also just scraped into consideration for the draft by a few days. Currently the youngest player in the AFL.

However he turns out, it’s the perfect use of pick 70 imo. Low risk, high reward.

The kind of player that Brad will sit in the VFL all year no matter how well he performs.

@nickers if he was pushed back to this years draft would he have been a top 10 prospect?

It feels like we got a potential top 10 2025 player for pick 70 in 2024.

Everytime someone goes that low in the draft I immediately think what the knock on them is. I have been looking but have been unable to find one.

If he strings a couple of good games in the vfl he will get picked. Was pick 70 chances of him coming good are low in saying that hopefully we snagged a gem

It will take 5-6 just to be listed as an emergency under Brad and then an injury to get an opportunity.

No he wouldnt be. Teams don’t let potential top 10 picks slide into the 70s that’s not a thing.

Its good to be excited but lets just enjoy watching the kid develop.

No he won’t.

Sorry I meant would he have been a potential top 10 pick in this years draft due to his age (ie if he was drafted this year instead of last year).

A mate of mine played with his dad at epping footy club. Apparently he was decent too.

Impossible to say what might have happened with another season of footy under his belt.

But if we go off his form of last season compared to how the other top end talent performed I would have had him coming into this season in that next group outside of the first rounders. Plenty of potential but still with a lot to prove, which I think is ultimately why he slid on draft day… there were others that had more runs on the board and were deemed less risky.

I really did like him though as a prospect. We had a discussion on the draft thread where people asked who I though might be candidates for our mid range picks in the late 30’s and I mentioned Zak as a possible, so I was surprised that he slid to 70 on the night.

Nice. The other bloke did well getting that handball and releasing so quickly.
