#41 Saad El-Hawli - thru 2025

Yes, but let’s not pretend he didn’t scrub the kick and got bailed out by Kako’s hands.

That sidestep he has…

It was a power low dart. Yes kako was v quick to martin. Lots of under pressure acts in that goal.

Has a similar running gait to duursma. Keeps himself low to the ground and is slippery as ■■■■

Kinda stole the limelight from the kid with tourets. Both started as sub, but its Kenny who is copping all the criticism for debuting him on the pine.
But you have to give the tactical points to Brad Scott for bringing a speed machine into the game at 3/4 time, because Saad was an inspiration in the last.

He just seems to be exactly what we need off half back.

Give this 7 man defence a block of games together.

He’s a great stamp of a footballer. He looks built like an old Geelong footballer, strong legs and torso, great runner, takes on the game.

Give him games, let him show what he has.

He could be a sub again during next year’s Ramadan unfortunately.

How uninformed are you

Ramadan slowly drifts forward (-10 days a year). Next year likely the last for many years to overlap the season proper.

(When Houli started it was September/October.)

He played this game solely on the wing,
But I agree he should be in the team, probably as HBF / wing combo.

Sounds tasty

I noticed he was eating a sanga on the bench in the 1st quarter, being Ramadan perhaps having not eaten all day, he would have been lethargic if he started on the ground, starting on the bench gave him a chance to get some fuel in the tank.

He said he was allowed to eat before the game.

Hin starting as sub has nothing to do with Ramadan.

Didn’t someone say Stanton was interviewed and said that he was struggling with energy levels during Ramadan that’s why they made him sub

Stanton should just prescribe a winfield blue for saad. That’ll give him some pep.

Thanks for educating me, I went home after the game, so saw no interviews.

He has detailed how he gets up at 5 am to eat 5 hard boiled eggs, toasties etc and drinks as much including electrolytes to stay as hydrated as possible when the sun is up. Which is when he can’t eat or drink. sunset was just before the game, which is why he could be seen eating a sandwich as play was starting. They’re his ‘before the game’ eating and drinking options. Slightly different than the starting 22.

He spent some time at Altona. I’m surprised he isn’t finishing a dart while walking to position after a break.

Also the fake disposal to wrong foot opponents.

I stumbled across the video on my Facebook feed, the AFL’s page, if anyone is looking for it.
