#41 Saad El-Hawli - thru 2025

Keeping Saad on wouldn’t have made a diffrence the whole team been belted off the park

Now if you are going to attack him, at least get it right.
He has had 3 touches, all handballs, all to players in worse positions.
He’s going very well thank you.

No one is saying that it would, Nino. Obviously. Your strawmans are so obvious.

But when senior players are squibbing contest after contest, for some reason it is a young player - who was actually one of the better players in the first half - who is made an example of for no good reason.

It farking stinks.

No one would have made a diffrence

If that’s the case, why not set an example and sub an experienced player off that has done nothing in redman or Langford. Instead of taking off a young guy who was actually half decent

Wouldnt have subbed him if his name was Smith

It isn’t about making a difference to this loss, it’s about making the right calls as a coach and making statements, regardless of any plans that might have been in place, against some of the senior guys.

Hmm. I think you are reading too much into it. Feels like a pre-arranged setup unless injuries intervene (which it didn’t)

■■■■ what a disgraceful decision. Saad was one of the least bad players and he subs him out like he’s making a statement about his performance, when we needed mature bodies out there.

I can see day wicks is a new one of brad’s boys, i was surprised he was selected last week off his vfl form, but also no sub gig yet, did nothing in the first half and still not subbed. Not that i blame a first year player, but we might have another perko type one of brads lads on our hands. Where as saad is definitely in the Massimo/hind scapegoat criteria for brad.

I doubt he will ever play for this club again.

Came to see if his hamstring was cooked……no?

Well that’s the worst sub I’ve ever seen.
Fark me of all the experienced spuds you coulda subbed out.

Let this guy try get some footy……baffling stuff.

Will look good at the hawks next year

There had to be an injury concern surely?

Even Brad couldn’t watch that first half and think the one to sub was Saad. Surely

There were a bunch of players who had been poor including El Hawli. Could have been any subbed out.

If it was a tactical sub (which the comms said it was) then it was a pre-planned action not a spur of the moment thing.
In a game like last night though, sometimes you throw out the planning and go for the obvious. Langford couldn’t even kick a ball, so many scrubbers along the ground, he was the obvious sub.

I get the feeling Scott just doesn’t rate him much. Like massimo I don’t think he’s going to be given many chances to prove himself. Just a permanent sub.

The whole team was pretty poor to be honest.

But was Saad in the bottom half of players - I don’t think so. He was quick, taking the game on and actually kicking the ball. Things we needed in the first half.

I think the issue is as much the perception that Scott has that senior players are his favourites. Based on what we’re all seeing - hard to really debate that.

I would have taken Day-Wicks off personally.

He hasnt exactly been tearing it up in the vfl this year also was very underwhelming all pre season
