#42 Adam Saad

If Saad chooses Carlton, and they split pick 7 offering us one of what they get in return then Dodoro would just ask for both picks they got for pick 7.

Which I think is all irrelevant cos I think he is staying.

While i’m not sure Saad is worth pick 7, Carlton are going to have to pay a mid first at lease. Maybe pick 7 with our second from next year going back.

They can’t offer somebody 5 years at $650k, which you could argue is even higher in Covid dollars, and then say he’s not worth a decent first round pick. They’re clearly doing a lot of convincing to keep him on the hook, imagine if it fell over on the trade table? They got Martin for nothing last year (apart from a ridiculous salary). This year they can pay up.

Guys I have PTSD from the '99 prelim
Can we stop mentioning that mob?!!

You barely see it happen because the clubs know they can’t risk losing the player for nothing so they fold.
People are kidding themselves if they think we have any power. 90% of players get to the club of their choice

They might as well trade 7 to us if Blues are going to split it.

Carlton want their cake and it too Saints coughed up 5 for Carlisle

Totally disagree on this. Clubs usually cough up to get their man. Especially when they’re offering big money. Anyway we’ll see it play out.

I’m hearing the same…aren’t the clubs waiting to hear revised list sizes /cap for 2021? When Saad signs (which I think he will) the press will be dramatic saying he and Joe and Zac “threatened to leave” …it’s journo speak for “we made it all up and the players were waiting for list sizes and caps before signing”

Not saying we will get both downgraded picks, just thats what Dodoro would ask for. We would get one in the end

When I was very young the soft drink man used to deliver‘Crystal’ brand soft drinks, simpler times, you left the empty crate with empties and money in an envelope on front porch.

We still get pick 7 if he chooses us, right?

Our second round pick next year could be pick 19.
I wouldn’t do it. Especially when next year could be a really deep draft due to kids not getting picked up this year.

I’d more likely give them pick 40 ish this year and Saad, for pick 7

How come the AFL are still ■■■■■■■ around deciding this? It’s not like they’ve only been considering changes for a few weeks. Bloody hell they continue to be a ■■■■■■■ useless mob

Depends if we match our contract offer or not

Hmmm. That’s a tricky one. It will give us a few weeks of supposition and pondering on various scenarios though.

If this is so, then why are we getting slugged 30% and the other clubs are not?

I’d bet you 5k it wont be. I know a lot of people are miserable but that’s ott.

Only if we give him a car.

Oraziesque

Think this year showed the AFL is run poorly, financially. To have the amount of money coming into the game and still be on the brink after one year has probably highlighted they need to tighten things up a bit.
