I like him but not sure how he gets a game if we have a full fit squad.
Maybe he can take Priors spot but that’s about it

I’m not sure either. Now that McGrath has been named captain I can’t see Nguyen getting a game unless he gets injured.

There is plenty of room for both McGrath and Nguyen. We’ve struggled against small forwards for years because we don’t have the options for them. Look at R1 last year as an example when small forwards kicked 11 goals against us
Coming up against Hawthorn again in R1 this year means we’ll have to find opponents for Watson, Moore, Ginnivan, Macdonald and Hardwick. I’d be surprised if Nguyen isn’t considered required for one of those matchups.

Nguyen gave Pidge his ticket out of that lock down small defender role, I reckon we’ll see a lot of Mcgrath in midfield rotation with a few stints down back, he’ll rightfully go where he’s needed and will sacrifice his own game to promote others.
Nguyen plays and Pidge makes a good captain, that’s my 2c.

Conor Mcdonald is 185cm and Hardwick is a defender.

Hardwick often plays forwards too, and kicked two against us last time in that role. Mitchell exploited our lack of small defender options by using him up front. Macdonald is still a crumbing forward.
Brad has a dark sense of humour when it comes to selection.

Class with the kick to Wright, courage backing into an oncoming key forward and a competitive tackle laid on one of theirs. Terrific moments each of them and each of them in the first half.

Impressed with the kid, he uses the ball well which I didn’t expect.
such a tough and courageous player which is cliche but real for Jayden compared to most players and especially for his size. he is honest and defensive minded, who plays hard and smart and doesn’t make many mistakes.
we knew about this last year but the question was his skills with ball in hand, which looks like it has really improved and he’s at the speed of the game.
also really like the way he plays, as a small physical and defensive asian player myself who peaked playing high school firsts… he is obviously much more talented lol. so glad he’s been able to take it to the top level
