Welcome to the internet.
Not typically one for shifting players around from their preferred positions but I am wondering whether we missed an opportunity to have Nguyen play as a high pressure, tackling forward. An area of the game in which we are desperately below average.

Funnily enough I dont see it as much with Nguyen as what basically everyone else on here does haha.
I think he is very limited offensively.
Does seem to be very sound defensively though and has courage in spades.
Obviously there is alot of time for him to get better still though.

I think there is certainly scope for this. He has the skills and tenacity to make it work. Tank? Maybe not.
For a team that lacks players who do the hard, defensive things consistently, he’s certainly got a spot. For how long? Who knows. I think hell be a solid 50-80 game player for us, but to your point probably lacks a bit of the extra stuff that will result in a long sustained career. That may come with time though.

That’s where he started in the “match simulation” last year.
It’s the only time I’ve seen him play live, and I had him as a standout. Precise kicking in(to) the forward line would be nice.

It’s funny how many on Blitz are in alignment (including myself) that Nguyen should be a back pocket lock for the best 22 and that we could definitely use him in the team. Yet Mcgrath is the superior player and everybody labels him a liability…
Is it the pick 1 factor? (Or that he’s now the captain?)

He has toughness in spades( I haven’t seen too many players back into players like he did during that practice match)
Is a good stopper
His skills are decent
I think he has more than enough raw ingredients to become a very good player for us

I mean McGrath right now is the superior player overall( as he should be with his games tally)
But I would rather Nguyen kicking it than McGrath
if there is a 50/50 ground ball, I would back Nguyen to win the ball over him
