#42 - Jayden Nguyen

Call me cynical bit I would think that all of you members of the train crew would be all over his performance in the VFL practice match.

I somehow am left doubting the veracity of your support levels here. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Haha that’s for the Melbourne chapter to pick up the slack, I’ll do it when they train in Adelaide

Our last 2 drafts looking really good.
Very early obviously but alot of great signs, Nguyen definitely being one of them.

Kid can play

He’s Cat B right? If he gets put on the main list I’d love to see him get a chance before the year is out.

Can play without being moved to the main list I think

Amazing what happens with a semi competent list manager

I hate to give the guy credit, but seems like Dodoro did pretty well in 2023 as well.
Caddy/Roberts/Visentini. All competitive blokes.

That’s because Rosa was in the building for the 2023 draft

Iam not sure wasn’t that side of things stripped from him back then and he was just doing contracts.

Yeah I got my timelines mixed up.
Regardless of who was or wasn’t in charge, I’m alot happier thinking it was Rosa, so let’s stick with that

The real miss in that draft is Lual, had we went with friejah there would have been a knockout draft but there is still time

Nguyen has speed, is strong for his size, has a crack and his kicking seems better this year. If Davey jnr had his courage he’d actually he a decent player (and yes i know he kicked 3 goals but my goodness he’s still soft as butter).

Was seriously impressive last night. I wish Andy McGrath had his football skillset.

Seriously tough little unit

Like with Mosquito and Mutch, Dodoro’s main objective was to ā– ā– ā– ā–  the other club off. Saved him the effort of doing the real hard work of assessing who would be a good second or third round pick.

rewriting history is all well and good but doesn’t mean you are right ! Both Ridley and Merrett are second round picks Dodoro got right ! Perhaps there is more to be gained by looking forward than by looking back and whinging about what might of been.

Can’t wait to see what 2 years of senior football does to this kid. He looks poised yet energetic. Some good skills and creativity

Do you have any evidence whatsoever that this is the case and that he didn’t simply just rate both players?

Certainly in Mosquito’s case the appraisal seemed warranted and it was a great shame he did his knee and then poor attitude took over. Mutch I’m happy to call a wash, showed a (small) bit but injured and concussed far too often to ever give us a good look (and for a 3rd rounder hardly any great loss).
