Barring Perkins, ground level was a wasteland. Guelfi, Ham, Smith just don’t have the instincts and were barely on screen as the Lions’ small backs routinely found themselves at the fall of the ball.
Still forward line struggles were what I was expecting, so this makes a lot more sense than last week.
This. His skills and pressure is what’s most missed. He creates panic in the defenders in a similar way to what Cyril used to do. We badly need another of these types. Obviously it was hoped mozzie would be this but there must be others out there. Surely?
Walla, Snelling, Jones, Tex, Baldwin, 2MP and Martin/Stringer- decent forward line.
Let’s hope we see it soon.
It’s not the same watching Essendon without Walla. Need some excitement.
