#44 - Archer Day Wicks

Reminds me a little of Will Day and Sam Wicks

They are both his half brothers. Glenn Archer is their father.

Black boots is a massive tick and suits his low centre of gravity, crack in, powerful style game, rude lid and hunched over running style. The aesthetic factor is all lined up beautifully. A lot to like about this.

Hope he doesn’t play as sub but assume he’s in for Menzie and will be 23rd man

Kid has gone from not being picked up in the ND to being selected in the rookie and debuting in Rd 9.

He’ll be a sub, which is just disappointing .

And hasnt really played great footy in the VFL from the games I’ve watched.

Not true, he has displayed a serious good set of skills at the level. Plus its all about roles. Maybe he’s delivered a lot at the role he’s been assigned.

He’s had some very good moments that would be featured at AFL level too.

There had been quite a few calls for him to debut, but he didn’t look to be setting the world on fire imo.

But here we are. Can’t wait to see him have a crack.

For those of us who haven’t seen him what position does he play? Any comparisons?

a lot of them? ive seen mid, hf, wing in the vfl.

my guess is brad has a specific task in mind for him

Guessing here approx 186/187cm power forward/midfielder.
so similar to Stringer or Perkins etc. he is well built for a 18 year old.
Is usually having a shot on goal each week, but has been used through the midfield in VFL when our experienced players are missing (Tsatas)

My knock has been his poor goal kicking accuracy.

I thought he wasn’t anywhere near ready ?

To be fair. A lot of posters were remarking how average Archie Robert’s was looking in pre season. Now look at him

good story.

Looks a strong young lad at just 18 yo. Best wishes to him.

I miss the skinny, perpetually injured, HBF that could play midfield.

Rosa delivers.

id qualify this as not as explosive as either of them
