Wtf? Your night-spills has me worried. A mate had a guitarist brother who wanted to have a band with the name ‘nocturnal emissions’.
I meant the word ‘debut’.
Commentators either say deh-boo or day-byoo. Both wrong.
Everyone thinks every ‘e’ in French has an accute accent. Including when there isn’t one. A mate from uni (the bomber supporter who pantsed @Alan_Noonan_10 on the telly) used to annoy me by pronouncing Jean-Michel Jarre’s last name as ‘zharray’.
It’s ‘deh-byoo’ (debut, that is, not Jarre!)

Can someone explain his draft history and why he was overlooked in the National Draft?
Won’t pretend to actually know, but purely looking at stats there doesn’t seem to have been any real improvement between his underage and draft years.
Also, as a medium sized bloke, running a 3.2s 20m wouldn’t have helped.
Also see some queries around his finishing for goal as a junior (That at least, seems to have followed him to the VFL so far)

If the worst butchering of a word from another language we get in the commentary is “debut”, that’s a pretty good outcome. I mean, ■■■■, the McGrath family didn’t get a choice when they moved here, what chance does French have?

From recollection, he was broadly in the first/second round calculations at the end of his underage year. But he copped some injuries and had glandular, missed some footy and just had a patchy year generally.

Two in fact.
My only concern is that he’s a forward and the highlights show him kicking goals, but he’s played 5 VFL games and kicked the grand total of 2.8. Let’s hope his elevation to the seniors straightens up his kicking. 8.2 would be a lot better than 2.8.
