I was surprised by this selection under brads ‘they need to be ready’ mantra and i still thought watching he’s not yet ready. Good for him to get a taste of it, but we’ll need every player on the field to be having an impact against the dogs next week.

You can’t be yelling out 'Go Day Wicks" when he gets near the ball. It’s too awkward.
I would HATE to be making my debut in our forward line with the way we move the ball sometimes. Honestly. But well done young fella, there’s some quality there for sure - his goal was class, a second and third effort after the marking contest, then worked his way through traffic with the ball.

Not meaning to derail this thread, but you look at Sheil first couple of contests coming on fresh, and he just can’t halve them. It kills ya!
ADW looks strong and hates losing from what I saw; great attributes.

Kind of thinking he’ll be real good if he keeps working on his strength and fitness.
There were two marks (one i50) when he had buffeted a guy under the ball and had to drop backwards and mark and he grassed them both. Not a worry on debut, just hoping after two pre seasons that will be his bread and butter. Something about his size/proportions makes me think it will be.
But I’m still striving to get a “profile” of him as a player.
He didn’t look out of place.
He will improve his running patterns, leading patterns and positioning as he gets more games. Just keep playing him.
His marking actually reminds me of early Hird when he was playing undersized CHF.
