Anyways, Day-Wicks looked overwhelmed today. Out of his depth. He is not ready. I didn’t see anything to say he will be able to pop back into the senior squad long term. But we are a terribly bad footy club so who knows

This is the frustrating thing for mine, Scott started debuting blokes for no reason like day wicks that didn’t deserve a call up in the first place and surprise surprise he is ordinary in the afl. Then you compare him to someone like Johnson who has performed at vfl level, deserved and eventually got a call up and looks like he belongs.
I’m reluctant to give Scott credit for all the debuts coz some of them have seemed debuts for no particular reason or purpose, other than to say ‘we’ve debuted a record number of players this year’.

I know he has some tricks but I’ve got no idea what role he’s playing. Unfortunately he was a deer in headlights today and I’d be playing any of Shiel, Hobbs, Davey over him until he gets more experience at VFL level

He’s just not ready. Which is fine as an 18yo.
I hope there’s a future player there. I don’t currently see anything to suggest so, but happy to give him time to show it. But it just has to be in the VFL.

Last week was the first time I saw “something.”
He didn’t carry it on this week. Give Davey a month to save his career and spell ADW.
The only things that worry me about this kid are that he has a serious lack of footspeed from what I can see (or doesn’t use it when he chases) and seems to possess a Perkins-like lack of intensity. Just seems slow between the ears/not switched on at all times.
He did hit an inboard pass against Carlton last week, therefore hes shown more in FOOTball’s most fundamental skill than Tsatas ever has.

I don’t know, the sub role sucks for kids. If we played Shiel as sub would he reach 100 games? Does he have any sons?
