#45 Alec Waterman - thighning off

From what I have assumed, we had 2 list spots, Baldwin was always in the plans to sign, so 1 spot left. The day before the blues practice game we tried to pinch a bulldogs player (Scott) for the last list spot, that must have been when we told Alec to prepare to leave.

Then Scott stayed with the dogs, we decided to give Alec a half in the practice game vs blues and the rest is history.

He looks like Solomon and Lucas had a baby. And still has the mighty left peg.

This guy is our version of Stevie Dew.
solid as a rock.
Left foot cannon
can pinch hit in the midfield.

this guy is a thousand times fitter than dew was for the hawks.

He just seems like that kind of player that will cement himself in the side and will make it near on impossible to drop.

He has a few tricks too, couple of nice ground ball scrapes which ended up advantage.

That’s unfortunate, isn’t it?

If Dew had been fitter, he never would have had to sit his ■■■■ in the fwd line, never kicks 3 goals in a quarter & no 2008 flag!

So true. It’s why you know he’ll leave no stone unturned at training and will go balls and all game day.

I must admit after watching him game day and his interview I’m an unabashed fan.

then ammo footballers around the country wouldn’t be able to be like ‘yeah i would’ve done that dew thing in 2008 cos im that good at kicking’

shame really.

He’s kinda what we wanted the fridge to be (I hope - small sample).

Edit - @barnz beat me to it.

and to think we wanted to give someone else a contract and he nearly didn’t play in the carlton practice match because we told him to go home. FMD, this club…

Yeah what was up with I assumed it had to do with covid protocols sending him home?

And?
Every club had already passed on him 10 ish times.

The guy we offered a contract to has been getting a game in one of the best teams of the year so far and has been doing ok. Not that much of a howler. The telling him to go home part because we believed we had Scott across the line bit is a howler though if true.
