#45 Anthony “Munny” Munkara

We couldn’t have done a whole lot more with Walla, Tex, Daveys etc playing alongside him in the VFL. Dean Rioli at the club would have also been a positive.

Really disappointing if he’s not back next year after a full pre season.

Another wasted pick by Dodoro

Not sure if joking but this was a complete free hit from a list perspective. McBride too.

But gee, it’d be a nice change if one of them could actually come off at some point. McKenna worked and then left. How’s Johnny Rayner going these days? Working in a hospital somewhere probably.

Cal Twomey reporting similar now. Might be an accurate call albeit not great.

I guess it’s accurate if you consider retiring = delisted?

I thought he was showing plenty at VFL level.

Definitely not there. But signs have been very promising imo

He won’t retire. He will be delisted.

I think we both know what you meant with your original comment, but whatever helps you sleep at night chief

If Munkara leaves on his own accord, I’m voting NO!

What a shame.

I’m genuinely confused by what you mean? I expected two months ago he’d be delisted and I expect the same thing today.

None of this helps me sleep at night as I can assure you I’d prefer to see him on an AFL list and so would he!!

I would like to see him come back, if he feels more up to staying for the long term. Is there a chance we could pick him up again in the future, particularly from a rules point of view? If he goes back and dominates in his local league, l don’t want another team swooping in and scooping him up.

Genuinely saddened by this and had not expected it. It has been some time since I had spoken to anyone who was in contact with him but at the time he seemed quite happy in Melbourne.
Disappointed as he has done some stuff on the field which I didn’t think was possible and I think he would’ve brought smiles to a lot of fans faces on the big stage. Hopefully he comes back to Adelaide next year and can still put on a show and have a solid career

Probably a good thing we didn’t spend our 2nd rounder on him last year.

maybe thats why he left, the disrespect from dodoros _____ essendon policy?

He would qualify as a delisted free agent, as he is retiring before his contract is up, so he will have to be delisted. He can pretty much sign with anyone he likes, much like Tyson Stengle last year.

I do not understand why we wouldn’t give this kid another year. It makes zero sense to take a kid that you know will take at least a year to find his feet, and then axe him after 12 months. If he hasn’t settled , ffs work out why and help him.

Maybe it’s not the clubs decision, who knows
