PASSSS

When we start seeing some improvement in the team and we are looking like a genuine finals chance, I wouldn’t be surprised if Dodoro starts having the conversation with McKenna with regards to being the cherry on top.

There really isn’t much point to bringing him back, until we are some sort of threat.

People need to think about the VFLM team and how good it’d be to see McKenna tearing up some spuds at that level for the second half of the season and the finals

Yep 100% agree

If he was to come back the first question Dodo will need to ask him “We’ll take you back but only if you are fully commited to playing out your career with Essendon other wise we are not interested”

Fast forward 2 years. We are starting the season with a list that is realistically going to play finals.

After a strong start, in Round 8, star speedy player does a knee. Other injuries are starting to test our depth. Our finals push has been derailed.

Nobody can tell be they wouldn’t be over the farking moon if Connor appeared out of nowhere in the mid season draft.

And then got signed by Norf or someone?

The mid-season draft is a draft. Unless we wait til 2024, when he won’t have been a registered AFL player for 3 years, and pick him up as a Cat B rookie, he’d have to register for the draft and then it’d be first in, best dressed. We wouldn’t have any special access to the guy.

Sounds like a plan

Oh I’m aware of that. But there’s a vibe on here that we don’t want him if he doesn’t want to be here long term.

If he was here for 4 months and that was the difference between 9th and a finals win, you bet your ■■■ that we’d welcome him with open arms.

He’s already shown everybody he’s stubborn. I doubt any other club would pick him up if he said he only wanted to come to Essendon.

How did Sydney and Collingwood re-sign their returning Irish players?

I think they just count as either DFA or rookie B

Nope.

waltzing in and out whenever you feel like it is not blue-collar.

and it’s a massive shame because he could have been one of if not the best to ever come out of ireland.

I know, right?

We’ve already discussed the possibility of him returning, and how the new rules would suit him. But no-one knows what the fark has happened to Connor’s FARKING CAR.

We need @theDJR with his aerial photos to do an absurdly time wasteful analysis of the car’s status over the last 12 months.

given mid season drafts afl should offer 12 game contracts etc. then he could fly in out during season etc gives greater flexibility to keep playin veterans

pickup as SSP player at start of year and just not take mid season pick unless future injuries and fly him in during middle of season.

Everyone but me should be investing far more time and effort into resolving this.

Could have been a star, wanted to go home (which is fair enough).
I definitely wouldn’t entertaining the thought of him returning for half a season. Either you’re committed or you’re not.

I failed to ever check for said vehicle during my many recent VFLW visits to the Hangar. No more games there this year, so do not expect a report from me.
