Also puts the club in a bit of a moral bind… Do you do the nice/“right” thing and hand out an extension to a 25 year old who was only a last minute SSP signing with a one year deal or do you just be ruthless and part ways at season’s end.

Completely cursed club.
The way we kick into the forward line I think they assume a blokes chest is 20m across. Bang it in and hope for the best.
I think you give him 2026. If he’s diligent in his recovery, then he will play the vast bulk of the season. I mean, they have Irving Mosquito an additional year after he did his ACL in 2020. Just hope Tommy does not go on his patented bulk diet!

If the club stands by him at least he will have a fair period of time to rehab and build up his muscle and fitness base (where possible) but jeez it’ll feel like a long way back for the kid

I just scrolled up and saw the news. This better be an April Fools joke because right now I feel sick in the guts.
What makes it worse is that he’s done the hard yards to make it, he wasn’t some preening 18 year old with the world at his feet, he was a guy who had to slog for years to get to the AFL and after looking quite nice in the colours he’s now done for the year?
Look after him, give him a good recovery and see how it goes.
