There was a moment late in the second quarter where he was chasing a port player and he looked completely gassed
Remembering he hasn’t done a full afl preseason, i think there is a gap he needs to make it past to be afl level, but i think there is something to work with
If anyone is expecting him to be key position they’ll be sadly disappointed. He won’t be that. He’s more that Langford, Hoskin-Elliott or Mihocek in-between type.
He knows where to lead to… it’s just our players couldn’t find a bloke’s chest even if they had a road map to get to it.
Maybe the messiah stays in for gather round - he does have a totem like iconic presence on the field and his disciples (the other players) are lifted when on the field by his sheer presence alone
Being realistic for a moment. Wasn’t he a teacher a month ago? Do you expect a teacher / semi pro WAFL player to walk into an AFL side having not met teammates or understand games plans and play like Coleman? It’s not realistic!
He may end up being a big disappointment. However he needs a pre season and plenty of games to adjust and develop. In 18 months we will be better placed to judge him.
I think we’ll need to guess what he might become with some weights and a preseason or 2. He’ll need to show some special traits for the club to invest in him for (say) 2 more years.
He has goal sense, is a good kick and cracks in. That’s a good start, but we need to see some speed and more forward craft.
He’s only played 2 games.
Bagged 3 on debut.
You want to give the debutants a chance to settle in, and not be in and out without just cause.
Shows real intent with his second efforts.
Gets a week off to rest up.
I suppose the Messiah should stay in for gather round.
He will say 'gather round my disciples (fellow players) and lets break bread, drink wine and pray that the Demons dont triumph.
The Messiah rejects the Demons and all his minions in all forms
