Good call, can’t throw an injured employee on the scrap heap after he has committed to the club and also relocated, that and the fact that he has some natural talent, looking forward to seeing him back in 2026.

If my employer sacked a colleague under comparable circumstances I’d very likely start looking for a new place to work. And it certainly wouldn’t send a very positive message to any potential employees.
He got injured while working for us, after making a fairly major commitment/sacrifice to take up the offer. Ditching him now would be a ■■■■ thing to do and would send a horrible message about the club as an employer.

When he comes back Tom will probably need the best part of next season to get back into the pace of the game - so he probably won’t show his best until 2027. He’s twice the forward Jones is, so give him a three-year contract.
