I agree. He almost plays like a promising 19-20 year old. Issue is he’s 26 so doesn’t really have time on his side to spend several years working on his craft and working into a footballers frame.

Well he’s going to have to with May,Caddy,Peter up forward. McMahon played as a key back before being switched as a forward

I would try 2MP in the backline reckon he would do a better job imo. if they drafted a key back in the msd we wouldn’t have this problem even it was for only 6 months

Blakiston has a bit of ‘good at footy’ factor. He’s a ruck showing a bit as a key back. Happy to persist while he works on his craft.

I can’t see why we would play him in the ruck. At least not until/unless we lose Draper, in which case, we need to see if Blakiston would be ok as a backup ruckman.
Otherwise, we just don’t need to find him to be a decent ruckman since we have Draper, Bryan and Vigo. IMO he has looked pretty good at times as a KP defender. His first 15mins today was really good. He got outmarked a couple of times later on, and seemed to run under a ball badly once in the last. But I see quite a bit to like.
