Is it Jok Jok or just Jok?

From what I understand having talked about this with guys I went to uni with, who were from different parts of Africa.

The names they are born with in their African countries, don’t fit into Western culture.

So they often Westernise their names for registrations purposes such as; passports, licenses, bills, etc.

Many of African people will continue to be called by their choice name, so it’s easier to fit in.

If anybody else has a better understanding of this. I’m happy to be wrong.
