Did we recruit him to play as a Key forward or is he also considered a key back? Played both ends as a Jnr. Seems to have spent a lot of time working on his deficiencies and become a consistent forward. Would be great if he could play at both ends. Someone we haven’t had since Hooker.
But he does kick goals and has had a stellar season so far in front of the sticks

Liam is a great young man. I coached him as a junior. Always says hello and happy to have a chat. He’s worked hard, and overcome disappointment get another shot at it and has been rewarded. Hopefully he gets his chance, and when he does he makes every post a winner. I wish him the best of luck at the Bombers!

Played forward & mid in under age juniors, and played forward at the Knights from memory. Collingwood drafted him as a forward but they went with Ash Johnson (I think it was) in the end as their forward. Liam played in the backline in the Collingwood VFL as a result before being delisted.

In the draft wrap on the Essendon site Forster-Knight is spruiking McMahon’s versatility and that he’s keen to play KPD if needed.
Sounds like he’ll start down back with us awaiting reinforcements.
If that’s the way it goes, happy with the result. You’d think three of Reid, McKay, Ridley and Hayes are the long term KPDs so makes sense to choose someone who can cover in short term but fill a long term need in a different position.

I don’t think he will play this week (Brisbane are not that tall up forward) but strongly suspect he will play next week against Carlton.
