Correct call, correct contract length.
Good work, Ed.

A terrible club.
I did say at the very least.

5th in the clubs goal kicking, off just 7 games…. Suggest he’s abit more than depth.

That, and the fact that he was leading the VFL goal kicking at both Carlton and Essendon simultaneously, is an indictment on the club.
I was wrapped that we picked him up, and I’m wrapped that he made the most of his opportunity. Yes, he has some areas to work on, but who doesn’t? He’s been through plenty of disappointment along the way and I’m sure he understands the opportunity he has in front of him.
Im happy for him and happy with the decision.
He needs to spend the summer in the gym thats for sure.
I can’t see any star out of May, McMahon, Edwards, Jones, Wright so still hoping we look at Schubert, CDT or Marsh in the draft.
Awesome news to hear Liam and Jaxon getting a contract for next year.![]()

Love this from the club
Liam McMahon is really a very good third tall and could potentially kick 40 goals in a year especially if he plays with Caddy and May.
All the good sides have reliable third talls, Gunston is the prototype. Caracella was a wonderful third tall - his departure from the club was the beginning of the end of the great 2000 side imo.
Liam should be played every game imo.
Goal kickers win games, and he will be an important and reliable player to help us back up the ladder
You can’t argue with his goal output and I think another year is justified, but he is completely invisible in aerial contests. Which is a massive issue. Makes ole STUZ look like a competitive beast.
Yeah has great forward craft but needs to be all summer in the gym so he can compete in the air, as that’s the obvious flaw in his game.
Scott will be very excited by Robbie Fox’s availability…..
People are gunna go mental when we FA some jobber for our last list spot (instead of taking pick 237)
Both clubs. It’s an indictment on both clubs.
I was overseas for 7 weeks so only saw the last three games of the season. I know these were possibly his poorest from a goal return, but I was shocked just how little presence he had. Didn’t halve many contests at all. Why I called for Visentini to play forward as well in the last game.
And he doesn’t look like he has enough pace to get separation as a pure lead / mark type. He is 23 and been in AFL systems a while so I don’t hold out a lot of hope he gets much bigger. He is an odd player. I think similar to Menzie kicking goals in his first year, he deserves another chance I just don’t see enough weapons.
The bloke is a poor man’s version of Gunston.
Should be first player into Matthew Innes’ office I reckon. Has zero upper body strength and shape
3 vfl standard players what a time to be an Essendon fan i’m excited lols
I think Mr McMahon will benefit from a preseason carve out a good career with us.
More confident in him than Edwards, Jones.
I for one have zero confidence in Jones.
I’m less convinced. McMahon has completed a number of AFL preseasons now.
He has skills, but I don’t think he has that potential “AFL preseason” boost that someone like Blakiston might.
