#5 Brent Stanton - returns as VFL coach

Very happy that hes back on board. i just wish it was a longer contract. maybe he wanted it that way

Onya Stants - a Bomber lifer

It's a safe deal for the club just in case Stants really drops away next season. I fully expect he won't, he is a super-fit and durable players, 248 games in 12 seasons is better than 20 a year. On e year with a 2nd year option based on games played is a good compromise for both the club and Stants himself. Game #250 will be ticked off early next season, hopefully we can have Round 2 as a home match and celebrate a great milestone for a loyal clubman in fitting fashion.

Damn, do we really have to play milestone games

Well done Stants. A true loyal son of the Bombers.

One player that just wouldn’t look right in opposition colours. Glad he’ll finish a Bomber… an outstanding servant of EFC. Will likely finish in the top 10 games played. Hasn’t experienced much team success, but that’s no reflection his output.

Great news

in career best form and has lost one of the two hard tags, can’t wait for 2016.

Fantastic news. Love the way he goes about it.

Easily the best Brent in the comp.

Surprisingly only needs to play another 19 games to achieve this.

Has been a warrior in his way.

The change in rotations gives him a new chance to shine. Keep on truckin’ Stants.

Awesome!

Well done Stants. Can’t wait to see you back in action next year.

Such a great team player. Obviously Im not privy to what went on with negotiations but Stants won’t sook that he was only given a year and he will keep fighting the good fight and help the youngsters learn the trade.

Dodoro: “this is a player that needs to be celebrated”. Spot on.
Like the Energizer Bunny*, when everyone else stops Stants keeps going.

  • not suggesting he’s a bunny
Hope he can get to 300 so that i can be there to boo him.

Racist!

Reading an article from news, com.au about both Stants & Dempsey and this quote had me intrigued:

“Stanton will continue his career under an eighth Bombers coach

So I wondered who the 8 were thinking we hadn’t has that many, so decided to have a look.

Stants debuted in 2004:
Sheedy: 2004 - 2007
O’Donnell: 1 game 2006
Knights: 2008–2010
Hird: 2011–2013; 2015
Goodwin: 1 game 2013
Thompson: 2014
Egan: 3 games 2015
Worsfold: 2016 - ?

That’s embarrasing…
