#5 Devon Smith

Came to us a very good player. We turned him into rubbish.

if he’s cooked, rest him for the rest of the year.
He’s lost all zip to make space for himself, and is now just a panic turnover merchant.

For a guy who’s 2 feet tall, you would think it would be easy to bend down and pick up the ball. I’ve seen Phillips do a better job

Led by example so far in the second half. The Devon of old, its great to see. Risen to the captaincy

He wasn’t able to get a game for the GIANTS when he came to “us”.

Best game all year. Set-up and hit some targets. Some clangers but thank fark from a low base he was an improvement tonight!

See what happens when you put your head over the pill and don’t play for some silly frees.

His handballs through traffic were a real feature.

Yep. Calming influence down there.

Finally laid a crunching tackle after a long time. Want to see more of it.

I my appears to have taken some time to get back into it, clearly the knee had a bigger impact than I expected.

Good game tonight.

Good 2nd half tonight after looking ordinary early on

Jon Mayo and the Fox Footy team trying to suspend him for taking Gunston’s legs with a karate like move in the 2nd quarter.

Ordinary? He was abysmal in the first half, and cost us at least 2 goals. He lifted in the second half, but so did everyone else. Laid a great tackle when it was needed. That second half effort is what we need to see more of from now on.

I thought I was seeing things at half time when he was pictured sitting with the defenders. Good work Dev!

Was he that bad CJ, or was he the only one trying to play (in the first half) like we did in the 2nd half.
I honestly don’t know, I was quite critical myself, but he’s definitely an “always trying to make something happen” kind of guy.
Thought he was lucky not to get caught for tripping behind the play at one point.
