#5 Elijah Tsatas (Part 2)

Dodoro got the final say and was list manager; the responsibility lies with him.

Can we just ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  close this shithouse thread for a month?
This is just insane and detrimental to everyone. I just hope Elijah doesn’t read this thread, as
a. It’s bad for his health,
b. He’ll realise what a bunch of ā– ā– ā– ā–  fans we have and will leave for sure.

It’s a pretty well known secret that Dodo wanted Philipou and Scott wanted Tsatas. The head coach who we just rolled out the red carpet to got the final say in this instance.

Iam one of the biggest critics of dodo going around but that draft and onwards had very little to do with dodoro it was scott and co calling the shots and dodoro was only there because he had a contract they couldn’t get out of

I get the hatred for Brad Scott but this blame game is ridiculous. Is he responsible for the war in Ukraine too? Fark me…it’s tiresome

Everyone is having a legitimate discussion about how this club completed farked a selection.

Nobody is personally taking potshots at Tsatas.

Maybe you should just sit it out if it upsets you that much.

It’s an idiotic discussion that has been going around in circles.
There’s absolutely nothing that hasn’t been said yet

And they were both wrong should have got Humphrey.

Some very valid points about his defensive numbers and reasons for why he’s not in.

And the team overall has improved heaps in this area over the past 6 weeks, conceding less goals from clearance whilst winning more ground balls, so we seem to have a structure around the contest that’s been working.

They’re not dropping our best defensive mid in Setters, who will likely also have a job on Bont.

I dunno why but I can’t see them making Shiel sub two weeks in a row though. Maybe they look to play Merrett more as a permanent fwd, make ADW/Hobbs sub & bring Shiel into the 22 that way. Because if he’s coming in, it has to be midfield.

And if they do that fine but I think I’d prefer Tsatas to be getting those centre square minutes. It’s a line ball call, given some of the games Shiel has played this year as a mid. I’m all for rewarding form, oldies included, but Tsatas is the future & also has VFL form (even if there are some areas to work on defensively).

Honestly, this fkn VFL fixture is a killer.

One just a few posts back if you scroll up :+1:

Absolutely agree and hope they keep playing Merrett more as a forward.
Maybe 50/50 forward mid.

The defensive numbers though, I am very wary of because we had a similar patch at a similar time last year where all our defensive numbers were fantastic.

Until we can do it for an entire season I will not be convinced.

Regarding Tsatas, I think he is being quite hard done by but I personally am not super fussed so long as Shiel isnt getting full midfield minuted ahead of him.

Every other player currently playing midfield deserves to be ahead of him in the pecking order, and in the case of Setters, they are just the complete opposite type. Setterfield is not there to win the ball first.

If only our poor kicks could flush it from 50 like this…

It’s not idiotic, why shouldn’t we be discussing how this club has completed butchered this selection, when we see the likes of Ashcroft, McKenzie, Sheezel, Wardlaw, Humphrey and other first round draftees careers going forward rather than stagnating.

This is a chat forum you know.

Correct, I’d still take his kicking over Tsatas’ though
