This list is so ■■■■■■■ ■■■■, there’s no reason not to give Tsatas a crack. We are MILES off the better teams.
SEH was the most mature aged option and still got stuffed around in the sub role.
Hayes only played due to injuries, and that he’s been much better than Lav at VFL level. Hayes should have played last year.
Menzie was going bad so Scott went him over Menzie when Gresham was injured.
Anyone giving Scott credit for debuting players is ill informed or has an agenda.
My point is Scott cares little about anything other than winning games and doesn’t rate youngsters or development. Others raised the number of debutants, and all I’ve pointed out is Scott has been mostly forced into it by a youngster glaringly being best available in the position, the oldest option, or due to injuries.
The only difference is there is a slim chance Tsatas could help turn our future the older guys we are running with have zero chance of doing that
Is anyone actually saying that or is it more that we should be blooding games into him?
Well said.
Going to be hard for the haters this week to come up with reasons he shouldn’t get a game after the midfields effort this week
MUST play the rest if the season
Yeah, give him a game. Even Richmond play the youngsters.
If he cant translate his vfl dominance into the seniors he wont get picked
Hey @Finding_Nino i value your contribution and tonight sucks definitely but we’ll get through this. It might take us 40 years so stay off the durries and continue to walk the dog.
BRING THE CARNT IN
How does he translate it to the afl if he doesn’t get picked ?
He’s had a few games in the seniors wher he’s done sfa after having a good game in the vfl
This season he has had one game back in the side after a vfl game two weeks before, he still averages the most clearances for our side despitee incredible low game time what more can the guy do
If he doesn’t get a number of games in the next 2 or so months he should outright request a trade and go to a decent AFL program
Surely if he can’t run out a game we can plan him for 3q and sub him out if nothing else goes wrong
Not putting myself in the hater camp at all – I think he’s better than others in our side and our best player that’s not getting a game at the moment – but still not entirely sure he gets a game next week.
Dylan Shiel should definitely go out of the side, but he was the sub, and I’d rather Tsatas play a full VFL game next week than play as the sub.
I’m not averse to Hobbs dropping back to the sub role or going out of the side, but he’s playing mostly half forward, which isn’t Tsatas’ go.
There are probably three ways we could bring him in:
- Drop Hobbs and have one, or a combination of, Merrett, Caldwell and Durham take his spot off half forward
- Drop Setterfield and have Caldwell/Durham play more defensively in the middle. This seems unlikely given Scott praised Setterfield’s job on Bontempelli after the game.
- Drop Caldwell after a poor game and bring Tsatas in. I wouldn’t consider this.
I’m open to #1, but see Caldwell and Durham as mainstays of our midfield for the next 5-6 years and don’t really want to displace them until there’s a serious questions as to whether they’re good enough, so it’d probably mean that Merrett plays limited time on ball. I’m ok with that, but wouldn’t be resentful if they didn’t do it.
Or play forwards in the forward line eg ADJ and Gresham vs Hobbs who is not a forward.
How could you defend not playing youngsters at this stage of our rebuild.? There is literally nothing to lose playing Tsatas over likes of Shiel and Setterfield
Drafting Tsatas over Humphrey will go down as an all time list management clanger.
However there is zero to gain playing Elijah in the twos now.
Has to play mid with Caldwell and Durham.
I’ve been bagged saying before, but Merrett way more forward, firstly he’s good at it and we just need to be playing Tsatas warts and all.
But yeah horrendous drafting taking this guy when we also have to shoehorn Parish in somehow as well.
