#5 Elijah Tsatas

One of those two players has dominated just about every VFL match he’s played, and it ain’t Caddy.

Gee you lot are hard judges you would think the way he is being spoken about that he missed every target and lost us the game.
He had 16 touches at 75 percent efficiency in he’s ninth game of afl in a position that he wasn’t drafted for which is inside mid accumulator which when he plays there in the vfl is a standout.
Yes he didn’t take on high risk kicks but that is fine I’d rather him take the easy kick make the target and build the confidence.
You lot are cooked

Correct me if I’m wrong but has anyone noticed he might have an issue with his kicking?

Has a wierd action. Lifts the ball up and then down. Anyway, that’s not the worst of his issues. It’s up there, but not the worst

So……his hand around the ball rather than on top ( above the seam). surely that’s not so hard to correct. And not really kicking action?

I saw a different game then.

Same kind of kitchen work going on in the Hobbs thread.

Tom Mitchell is a Brownlow medalist and a premiership player and can’t kick >35 meters. I’d also think he doesn’t have the same burst of pace Tsatas has at the same age. Tom has had an excellent career and I expect Elijah to do similar.

How about we keep our ribbing for players who perennially drop marks when they are 500 meters tall and have been in the system 8 years (a la 2MP & Weid)

Yep…he’s not a star after about 10 games = must be a bust.

His kicking is nowhere near as bad as many make it out to be. It’s already better than it was last year. So he is improving, its just going to be a gradual thing

I have no issue with him not taking the risky kicks, especially if he doesn’t trust his disposal fully. Better to play within your limitations and build from there.

The kid has IT, it’s just a matter of him getting experience playing AFL football

Yes, I agree with you about that set shot against FC. Shocker.

There was another shocker against Swans in the Prelim Final in Sydney in 1996. Set shot in the last qtr from about 30 meters but misses.

Locker kicks a point after the siren.

I have no doubt Tsatas will be an excellent footballer. He hasn’t yet settled into the system. He also appears to me
to me a bit nervous. Also, there are times he makes good position, but doesn’t draw the ball from others. And of course
he is not playing in his natural position. He will be a different footballer when he settles into the midfield, as was Parish,
and now Caldwell. But he will be made to wait. I’m not sure his kicking is as bad as many suggest. A lot of improvement
is ahead of him, but I don’t think his kicking is a reason to leave him out.

I agree with that and I think his confidence has also taken a bit of a hit.
Let’s see how he looks when he’s played 6-8 straight in his natural position, whenever that may be.

Beyond a joke how in a super draft this bloke has come to us with pick 5

Finishes with a Laverde dumb free kick.

How fitting

Needs to play as an accumulator.

not as sub
