Well fmd. I have Caldwell down as the slowest player on our list.
Watch him play, he doesnāt break out of a jogging state very often at all. Not sure if heās just buggered all the time or what the go is.
2.98 seconds is not especially quick over 20 metres anyhow. Itās sharp-ish but just having a look over draft combine results for the last 10-15 years it didnāt have you in the top 10 or anything.
P.S. Tayte was as quick as Danger
Maybe his conservative approach relates to his injury history?
Gee, thereās a few names in there Iād completely forgotten about.
Think maybe Bill ir is your baud rate is a bit slow. He is so quick that you miss it.
In AFL itās all about the first few meters. You need that break away speed over say six to eight meters. After that you need endurance to run all day.
Nice run down tackle when stuffedā¦did well
Doesnāt get enough love this bloke.
7 tackles and goal. Iām still of the opinion heās ahead of Hobbs given his flexibility and kicking.
He was lining up at CHF for a fair bit of the game and did OK. His played better as the game went on. I would like to see him rotated through the midfield more.
Said it so many times forward
He is not getting midfield time ahead of Perkins, Durham and not to mention we have Parish, Hobbs, Shiel to come into the side. He better pull his finger out if he wants to be an AFL midfielder.
He only got that tackle because the hawks player dropped the ball and had to stop.
Just an ordinary game from jye. Needs to pull his finger out before hobbs/shiel/parish are back
This is going to be controversial but I would trade him at the end of the year.
Hereās why he is in that smaller mid catergory which is something that has plagued us for a long time Merrett and parish are in this catergory and both those guys are locks (we should have moved parish on at the end of the year just gone in my view I know heās a gun but sometimes you have to be brave).
Secondly he is a goodish player but he gets stuck playing the forward role and this I believe is detrimental to him and the team he would be better served playing somewhere else and playing in the guts and the team would be better structured with a faster small forward in the spot
Iām an unashamed Caldwell fan. I reckon heās a farking gun when played in the right role. Heās probably suffered from showing some glimpses as a forward.
If you could somehow trade him and get a quality small forward youād have to think hard about it. However having players of his quality not be able to play in their preferred position and wanting to stick with the club shows we are on the right track.
Fair call.
Does that serve the team best in the long run though?
It could go either way, really
Hopefully he and Guelfi can lean on each other whilst living together.
Considering he played and Hobbs didnāt, you could be right.
