Is Jye good? Impossible to know, pick 11 so highly rated, only managed 11 games in two years but playing behind a mammoth GWS midfield where even Tom Green only managed 6 games this year. I think he’ll fit in nicely and be a great recruit, just how high his ceiling is? Who knows.

We traded 29 and a future 2nd for him. Is it our future 2nd or one we acquired from elsewhere? Essendon website ins and outs for trade period doesn’t say 2021 2nd round pick is ‘out’

So giving up this year’s 2nd and future 2nd and getting a 3rd back doesn’t impact on our list management strategy?
But giving this year’s 1st and future first does impact on on our list management strategy when we had two more 1st rounders this year inside top 10.
Just had to trade one for future 1st and issue would have been solved.
Not sure if anyone is driving the Jye train yet but I’m plonking my butt right up the very front. I reckon this kid has got the skill and drive to be pretty bloody good.

I would be surprised if Jye gets much midfield time to play inside role.
Another undersized player and is competing with some senior players and Parish and McGrath etc internally.
He might be thrown into the backline. I wonder if going after him is purely to fan Dodoro’s ego, as he can claim he won Shiel deal now. If we got Phillip and got Dunkley over the line, then we address the clear needs on our list and that would be understandable.
