I agree with your query, but like HM says we have so many holes that Jye would fill a need regardless. As for a pure inside mid Dunkley is the one I’d trade a pick for.
Edit: spelling- too early

Pretty sure 4 years. Not sure on $
Which one Brett or Michael?
maybe thread change to Welcome to Essendon Jye Caldwell
now you know a bit about him.
not sure why the thread title is an issue, or being taken so seriously, I just took it to be an example of Blitz’s playful irreverence
Im surprised noone has asked for the person to be banned yet given how precious this forum has become
FYI Sam Walsh had a kicking efficiency of 55.4% this year. Caldwell was 53.6%.
I’ve been told $1.8mil over 4.
And it’s all about context of each and every kick.
That’s why it’s not a meaningless stat, but it can be-deceptive.
Was the kick made under pressure,or no pressure?
THAT is the difference that’s needed to truly evaluate the quality of a players disposal.
When in space, with your team mates running forward-it is THAT kick that can hurt the team far more than the quick one out of the pack where the players haven’t even had the opportunity to move.
Id imagine inside mids DE are generally down a bit?
Well that answers the OP’s question. Jye is a misplaced Dutchman.
It really feels nothing like that.
Ummm, there’s a technicality with that title.
yeh maybe hold off till after the trade papers are ticked off and official.
jumping the gun a bit.
I’m not sold on him, I would rather use picks.
But if he we get him I will barrack for his success.
he’ll get 3 year apprenticeship in the forward pocket whilst he “works on other areas of his game”
See what you did there.
Happy with that.
He’s certainly an unknown and unproven, but if it’s a late first round or beyond we can still meet the demand to use early picks. He’s young enough to basically qualify as a draft selection anyway. And he’d effectively give us a drafted midfielder which may make us more comfortable going with a KPP early in the draft.
I’m more concerned long term if we continue to not take top 10 selections. I’d like to get Dunkley, but if the cost was two first rounds then it’s tough to fill other needs.
Don’t be a premature congratulator. You might end up being embarrassed.
