I would like this bloke to ask his manager for a trade. He needs to play in a team that has expectations, standards and a chance at finals. With the dons he is used as a workhorse not an elite mid and has carried this team for years. Go Zac, before you are a plodder go and enjoy yourself for a change.

Heās almost 30 and still carrying the team every week. He needs a managed week.
Whole team looked like they had something on their mind. Football clubs are a bit of an insulated bubble. Wonder if behind the scenes something happened on a personal level to a player or staff member.

Yep that was my thought also, looks like he is being broken by our pathetic-ness. Was sad watching him last night, champ deserves success.

What does this post mean? That because he had a crap game vs Bulldogs that heās no chance of winning the Brownlow?
With Zac flying early on in the season, teams are now applying hard tags on him.
The same with Daicos at Collingwood.
The difference is the how each team approaches this. Pie players continually bump and block Daicosās opponent. Their coach publicly calls out their players to do more to protect him. If nothing else it shows support and helps to build confidence. Eventually opponents will be sore and sorry they took on the job.
Whereas us: push Zac into the foward line; take the tagger out of the game, (hopefully). Zac is still dangerous down forward, but he should be in the middle and getting physical and emotional support.
Difference in approach. Difference in results.
Ironically, Brad would have been one of those players going hard at the tagger. It should be a team effort though. Bit like team defenceā¦

I only just caught up with the last month or so of posts and this was my response.
Itās okay. Not all of us have to blow a never ending amount of smoke up his ass.
I donāt think heāll win it either, but itās not like itās delusion to think he has a chance. Equal 4th in betting is a fair indication that heās in the hunt.

Is it solely the tag? or is Merrett injured/sore.
we were probably better off having Merrett and a tagger on ball rather than one of Caldwell/Durham or Setterfield.

I was wondering if heās been playing sore the last two weeks. Regardless he is probably going to need the odd managed game now and then. No 30 year old can keep up his work rate for a whole season.
